The Design
The Aurelio speaks the language of the early seventies, when designers decided a bracelet should not be an accessory bolted onto a case but part of the same object. The steel leaves the case flank without a lug or a seam to interrupt it, and the case itself is cut in flat planes rather than turned round. Seen from above it reads as one continuous piece of steel with a window set into it.
On the Wrist
At 40mm it covers the wrist without hanging over it, and because the bracelet leaves the case at the same width and the same angle, the whole watch lies in one plane instead of bridging a gap. The clasp is concealed and closes flat, so nothing sits raised underneath. It has the weight steel always has — enough to register, not enough to move when you do.
The Detail
The dial is sunburst-finished, brushed outward from the centre so light crosses it in a moving band as the wrist turns; the colour is never quite the same twice. The hour markers are applied rather than printed — small polished batons standing above the surface, each throwing its own shadow. Day and date sit together at three in a single window.
